Confirmation Bible Study holds classes during the week, fall through the spring, for grades 6th-8th. This is an opportunity to gain knowledge and wisdom concerning God’s Word, and increase your faith in the salvation of Jesus Christ.
Upon being confirmed the young people will be able to partake of the Lord’s Supper at Living Hope with the knowledge of it’s deep, profound meaning and the blessings it imparts.
If you are an adult, Pastor Jeske will work with you to gain this same knowledge and help you become a member of Living Hope.
Dr. Martin Luther wrote the Small Catechism so that all Christians might have a short and simple summary of the main truths that the Bible teaches.
The six main parts of the Small Catechism:
- Part 1: The Ten Commandments
- Part 2: The Creed
- Part 3: The Lord’s Prayer
- Part 4: Baptism
- Part 5: Confession
- Part 6: Holy Communion
Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training.
They do it to get a crown that will not last,
but we do it to get a crown that will last forever.
For physical training is of some value,
but godliness has value for all things,
holding promise for both the present life and the life to come.
Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power.
Put on the full armor of God,
so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes.
For our struggle is not against flesh and blood,
but against the rulers, against the authorities,
against the powers of this dark world
and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.
Therefore put on the full armor of God,
so that when the day of evil comes,
you may be able to stand your ground,
and after you have done everything, to stand.
Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist,
with the breastplate of righteousness in place,
and with your feet fitted with the readiness
that comes from the gospel of peace.
In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith,
with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.
Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit,
which is the word of God.
You, Lord, are a shield around me,
my glory, the One who lifts my head high.
