November 20th

Sunday evening from 5:30 sharp to 7:30 pm sharp.
Our very special guest speaker this year is Anita Smith from Friends Network.
Friends Network is a WELS-affiliated ministry. They have trained and supported over 340 lay missionaries since the year 2000. Friends Network recruits, trains, sends, and supports lay missionaries around the world. They currently have mission teams in four countries across East and Southeast Asia.

Most of the missionaries work as “tent ministers,” which means they have local employment (like teaching English) as their primary means of income. Although their circumstances may vary, each missionary is committed to a three-part process:
- Meaningfully engage in local culture and community.
- Establish authentic friendships.
- Share the Gospel where God gives opportunity.
Friends Network is involved in the amazing outreach to Vietnam. The message of free grace received from Jesus Christ has brought peace to the Hmong Fellowship Church. In 2018, the communist government in Vietnam noticed this positive change and invited WELS to build a theological education center in the capital city of Hanoi. WELS is currently the only protestant church with official government permission to work with the Hmong in Vietnam. The Lord is opening a door to reach the more than two million Hmong people who live in Vietnam and the surrounding countries.
Please join us for this inspirational presentation. A Panera meal will be provided for all.
